We Did It Together!

As a community, we have fully funded the new Community Food Pantry of Spring Green and the building is complete!

This wonderful achievement happened in record time, taking just a year and a half to raise $750,000, which is a short timeline compared to the national average for a project of this size. That remarkable timeline was made possible in part by S&D Builders, who began construction before all the funds had been secured, trusting that our community would rise to the challenge. They were right.

Support came from every corner of our community. Individuals, families, small businesses, corporations, philanthropic organizations, and foundations all played an important role. The Pantry's Board of Directors and countless volunteers dedicated months of hard work to make this vision a reality. Their smiling faces could be found selling raffle tickets at local events, organizing items at the town-wide garage sale, cooking up pulled pork sandwiches at the art fair, and aiming for the elusive hole-in-one at the Shed golf outing just to name a few, not to mention spending countless hours planning fundraising efforts and meeting with larger donors and corporate partners.

Those same volunteers will now be working in a bright, organized facility with room to move about safely. A covered carport will provide protection from rain, snow, and summer sun while they are unloading delivery trucks and serving clients. Expanded storage allows the pantry to purchase food in larger quantities, stretching every donated dollar.  This also removes the need for the staff to jockey food to and from 5 different local storage locations during the month, saving valuable hours.

Most importantly, the new Community Food Pantry of Spring Green will serve our neighbors throughout the entire River Valley School District more efficiently and effectively for decades to come.

It takes people with many different talents to keep the pantry thriving. If you'd like to become part of this amazing team, visit https://www.communityfoodpantryofspringgreen.org/volunteer to learn more.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. We believe it also takes a village to build a food pantry. Thanks to the generosity, compassion, and determination of this community, we did it together and we should all be proud of what we've accomplished!
